Certified fire rated glazed screens for Oadby
Looking for fire rated glazed screens in Oadby? Our supply and fit service covers LE2 and the surrounding area, including Wigston and Leicester. We quote complete doorsets — leaf, frame, seals, hinges and closer — because that is what the fire certification actually covers.
Oadby is about 3 miles from Leicester; we cover both, along with Wigston, Leicester and Market Harborough.
Which rules apply in Oadby?
Because Oadby is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Guide prices in Oadby
Guide prices for fire rated glazed screens in Oadby run from about £1,400 to £4,500 per screen, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Your questions answered
What does a Oadby quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Oadby?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Oadby?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
