Fire rated glazed screens in Nelson: how we work
Fire Rated Doors supplies and fits fire rated glazed screens in Nelson, Lancashire. Whether it's a single replacement or every door in a block, we start by surveying the openings and end with a handover pack listing each doorset and its certificate reference.
Nelson is about 21 miles from Preston; we cover both, along with Colne, Burnley and Accrington.
Fire door rules in Nelson
In Nelson, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Nelson?
Expect roughly £1,400–£4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens, fitted, ex VAT. Your Nelson quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
Guide prices assume straightforward access; out-of-hours working or difficult access is priced as a separate, visible line.

Fire rated glazed screens in Nelson: questions
Do you cover Nelson?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens throughout Nelson and the rest of Lancashire, including BB9 and nearby Colne.
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Nelson?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
What does a Nelson quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
