In Rutherglen the building standards come from the Scottish Technical Handbooks rather than Approved Document B, and existing non-domestic premises fall under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. We specify doorsets against the Scottish requirements and your fire risk assessment.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Rutherglen?
Our guide price for fire rated glazed screens in Rutherglen is £1,400 to £4,500 per screen including fitting, ex VAT. Non-standard sizes, veneers, vision panels and access control push towards the top of the range.

Common questions in Lanarkshire
How quickly can you survey in Rutherglen?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Rutherglen visits with other work in Lanarkshire. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Rutherglen need to meet?
They are specified to the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Rutherglen?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
