Fire rated glazed screens in Tiverton: how we work
If your fire risk assessment in Tiverton has flagged doors to replace, we can schedule, quote and fit fire-rated glazed screens and fanlights to match its recommendations. Surveys in EX16 are free and quotes are fixed and itemised.
Tiverton is about 47 miles from Plymouth; we cover both, along with Exeter, Heavitree and Taunton.
Which rules apply in Tiverton?
Because Tiverton is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Cost of fire rated glazed screens in Devon
Expect roughly £1,400–£4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens, fitted, ex VAT. Your Tiverton quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
Where fire rated glazed screens are needed
Corridor borrowed lights and doors with fanlights are among the most common settings for fire rated glazed screens, in Tiverton as elsewhere.
Devon's demand comes from Plymouth's post-war city centre and naval estate, Exeter's offices and student housing, and coastal hotels.

Fire rated glazed screens in Tiverton: questions
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Tiverton need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Tiverton?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
What does a Tiverton quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
