Which rules apply in Jarrow?
Fire doors in Jarrow sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Newcastle and Sunderland combine city-centre apartments and student housing with a large stock of post-war council blocks and terraces.

Questions about fire doors in Jarrow
Do you remove the old doors?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset in Jarrow.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Jarrow?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
How quickly can you survey in Jarrow?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Jarrow visits with other work in Tyne and Wear. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Jarrow?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
