What the law says in Borehamwood

In Borehamwood, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.

What do security fire doors cost in Borehamwood?

Guide prices for security fire doors in Borehamwood run from about £1,600 to £3,500 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.

The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Common questions in Hertfordshire

Do you remove the old doors?

Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset in Borehamwood.

Is the survey in Borehamwood free?

Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.

Can you fit just one door in Borehamwood?

Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Hertfordshire.

Can any fire door be made secure?

Adding security hardware to a fire door without evidence can void its fire rating. Choose a doorset certified for both.
