Fire-Rated Screens & Fanlights for Chapeltown buildings
Getting fire rated glazed screens right in Chapeltown means choosing a certified doorset for each opening and fitting it exactly as tested. That's the whole service: survey, schedule, certified doorset, careful installation and the paperwork to prove it.
Whether your building is in central Chapeltown or on its edges towards Burngreave, survey and fitting dates are arranged around your access needs, with occupied buildings worked in planned phases.
Which rules apply in Chapeltown?
In Chapeltown, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.

Questions about fire rated glazed screens in Chapeltown
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Chapeltown need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Is the survey in Chapeltown free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Do you cover Chapeltown?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens throughout Chapeltown and the rest of South Yorkshire, including S35 and nearby Burngreave.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
