Regulations for fire rated glazed screens in Herefordshire
Because Hereford is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Hereford?
Guide prices for fire rated glazed screens in Hereford run from about £1,400 to £4,500 per screen, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Common questions in Herefordshire
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Hereford?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
How quickly can you survey in Hereford?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Hereford visits with other work in Herefordshire. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Do you cover Hereford?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens throughout Hereford and the rest of Herefordshire, including HR1 and nearby Great Malvern.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
