Getting fire rated glazed screens fitted in Westhoughton
We fit fire-rated glazed screens and fanlights in Westhoughton and the rest of Greater Manchester. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
We cover BL5 and the surrounding area, including Atherton. Tell us your postcode and preferred dates and we'll confirm a survey slot.

Fire doors in Westhoughton sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Fire rated glazed screens prices in Westhoughton
Budget around £1,400 to £4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens supplied and fitted in Westhoughton, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Fire rated glazed screens in Westhoughton: questions
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Westhoughton?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
What does a Westhoughton quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Can you fit just one door in Westhoughton?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Greater Manchester.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
