Which rules apply in Ashton-in-Makerfield?
In Ashton-in-Makerfield, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.

Your questions answered
Is the survey in Ashton-in-Makerfield free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Ashton-in-Makerfield?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Can you fit just one door in Ashton-in-Makerfield?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Greater Manchester.
Can screens be very large?
Size limits depend on the screen system's evidence. Larger screens may need intermediate mullions or transoms.
