Which rules apply in Hove?
New and replacement fire doors in Hove are specified under the Building Regulations 2010 and Approved Document B. In workplaces and the common parts of blocks of flats, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 makes the responsible person keep fire doors in working order, and in residential buildings with a storey above 11 metres regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 adds quarterly checks of communal doors and annual checks of flat entrance doors.
Brighton and Hove's converted Regency and Victorian houses make it one of England's biggest HMO and flat-conversion markets; Eastbourne and Hastings add hotels and care homes.

Questions about fire doors in Hove
Can you work around tenants or staff in Hove?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Do you remove the old doors?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset in Hove.
How quickly can you survey in Hove?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Hove visits with other work in East Sussex. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Hove?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
