Questions about acoustic fire doors in Elgin
Can you fit just one door in Elgin?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Highlands, Moray & Islands.
Which rules do acoustic fire doors in Elgin need to meet?
They are specified to the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Elgin?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Do acoustic seals affect the fire rating?
They can if untested. We only use seals covered by the doorset's fire evidence.
